Impact on campus
Good PR goes a long way. The Campus Recycling efforts have been a very positive opportunity for folks to feel like they're making a difference. Putting effort into good PR is a worthwhile investment for a large return. Positive PR, boosts the University's image, while providing validation for the program's existence. Campus Recycling has had a notable impact on employee morale at the University of Oregon. Individual participation has been the cornerstone of the Program. Employees take pride and ownership of the waste reduction and recycling efforts.

One of the greatest things about a recycling program on a college campus is that it is part of everything done on campus. Waste is something that everyone has in common. Reducing waste saves the University money, gives folks an opportunity to contribute and provides a compliment to the educational setting of creating good citizens. |
Campus Recycling is part of everything we do at the University of Oregon. From purchasing to disposal, Campus Recycling is part of the process. There is nothing done on a college campus that does not involve an opportunity to reduce the impact of doing business. This is highly recognized by the University of Oregon and the campus community. The Campus Recycling Program is highly visible on campus and also in the local community. Establishing a program logo and displaying this on all equipment including vehicles, has been a cornerstone of the longevity of the UO Recycling Program. Campus Recycling has a visible presence at the University of Oregon. You could not spend a day here without running into many recycling sites, messages and opportunities.
