New Construction And Remodels
Campus Recycling is working to expand and upgrade the operational infrastructure through the inclusion of recycling needs during the planning process for new construction and major remodels on campus. In particular, the program strives to meet the priorities of aesthetics of equipment, meeting code and the user-friendliness of recycling sites. As a result, Campus Recycling designed new steel recycling enclosures to locate in as many sites as possible.

 Unfortunately, Campus Recycling is unable to fund this equipment (due to fiscal limitations standard recycling containers are galvanized cans, Bagit hanging systems, and cardboard desk-side sorting boxes). Funding is requested for this equipment during construction and remodel planning. Individual department and office employees are encouraged to purchase steel enclosures for those remodels.

 The campus community is encouraged to advocate for the inclusion of recycling equipment and space allocations in construction and remodel planning and budgeting through participation in construction user-group committees, networking with committee members, and providing feedback and requests during the budgeting process in individual offices and departments.
