C. elegans is a rapidly growing nematode with an explosive reproductive output. Laboratory populations quickly consume all available resources and enter a dauer resting phase. If transferred on a regular cycle, these populations show evidence for density-dependent population regulation.

The pattern is pretty irratic. Is it chaotic? The phase reconstruction suggests that there is not a simple attractor
