Winberry Divide Trail is a perfect trail for the confident intermediate rider seeking to improve trail riding skills. The trail rolls with the ridgeline above Lookout Point Reservoir, offering views of the valley on either side.
To find the trailhead, refer to North Shore Trail. Follow North Shore Road along the reservoir for 11 miles, then turn left at School Creek Road 5823. The road climbs 4 miles until it reaches the ridge at a three way junction. At that point there is a pullout on the left shoulder; park here.
The trail quickly scampers up the ridge to the east. There has been some logging activity in this area, so the trailhead may be slightly obscured, and the route altered. The trail crosses roads at four points and ends just short of five miles at the Tire Mountain trailhead.
If you are not quite ready to turn around, try Tire Mountain Trail. Be sure to begin with plenty of water if you want to ride both trails. Together they are somewhat demanding, yet immensely rewarding.
