
This ride around rural Veneta offers an abundance of scenery for someone looking for a medium length ride with some hills to challenge. The ride circles the City of Veneta, goes out through Vaughn and Noti and works back through Elmira. You can enjoy a look at the Fern Ridge Reservoir, a brisk descent down country roads, all surrounded in a magnificent setting of beautiful wooded lands.
To begin this ride drive to Veneta. Leave the West Lane Center Parking Lot's East Exit crossing Territorial Road going down Jeans Road. At 2 miles turn right on Ellmaker Road. Follow Ellmaker 1 mile and turn right on Wildwood. Wildwood ends in .05 mile; turn left on Huston Road. Cross Highway 126 (West 11th) and ride down Huston for 1 mile until you turn right of East Bolton Road. Follow East Bolton as it curves around and comes up to Territorial. Cross Territorial Road to Bolton Hill Road. Go up and over two hills for 3 miles and turn right on Crow Vaughn Road. Follow Crow Vaughn road through the breath-taking countryside for 6 miles and you will come to Highway 126. Turn right on Highway 126 and ride .05 mile and turn left on Knight Road. Be careful of the traffic on this left turn. Follow Knight Road 4 miles and turn right on Sheffler. On Sheffler you climb the 3rd hill along the way and about 6 miles later you come to Warthen. Turn left on Warthen and ride 1 mile to Territorial. Turn right on Territorial and 1 mile later you return to the West Lane Center.
