OPP ROCK CLIMBING PRACTICUMS |
LEADERSHIP PAGE |
Students assisting in a rock climbing practicum must be enrolled for one-credit of PEL - 409 Practicum Outdoor. Practicum assignments must be approved by the course instructor or a Program Director. Enrollment may be for credit, or non-credit (ncs). Credit enrollment is done via Duck Call. There is no registration block on practicums. If you plan on enrolling for non-credit, you must complete a "permission to add" form. This form is available in the PE office (102 Esslinger) or from Michael, Jim or your course instructor. Take the completed form to the PE office along with payment, which can be in the form of cash or check, or applied to your student account. All assignments are 1-credit transactions, with the exception of assistant-instructorships, which are two 1-credit transactions. If you are enrolling for more than one practicum, you need to use a different CRN each time. Enroll for a $20 practicum if you are assisting with a climbing course conducted at the rock wall, or a $40 practicum if you're assisting with Rock Climbing 3. For a listing of OPP practicum crn's go to the practica page. If possible, meet with the course instructor prior to the first class session. If this is not possible, you MUST attend the first class to learn about your specific responsibilities. The course description and syllabus are available online as pdf downloads. Download these documents (go to the rock climbing page), read them and bring any questions you may have to the course instructor.
