GIVING OPPORTUNITIESGifts from alumni and friends to the Office of Multicultural Academic Success Program Event Fund provides support for UO students who are generally the first in their families to attend college, come from underrepresented backgrounds, and may have a number of academic and economic hurdles to overcome. Gifts to OMAS help these students achieve and recognize their dreams of academic achievement and success in life.
Examples of how your gift can improve current and create new programs:
OMAS Student Program Grant - Provides financial support to a number of student organizations committed to promoting cultural/educational/social justice programs. Examples of past events include Black History Month speakers, Chicano Xplosion, Asian/Pacific American Heritage Month, Pow Wows, and Hawaii Club Luau.
OMAS Student Leadership Team – It is a year long program in which veteran students volunteer to coordinate the OMAS fall retreat for new students of color. They also serve as OMAS ambassadors at various events including retention and recruitment programs.
OMAS Coursebooks Fund – Provides funding to needy students who cannot afford to purchase textbooks. Students are encourage to repay the fund once they are able financially stable.
