VolunteersThank you for being interested in volunteering to serve as an orientation assistant for the fall term 2001 International Student Orientation (ISO) program. We're sure that you will have lots of fun as we all work together to make new students feel welcomed to our campus community. |
Dates of the ISO and when you are required to be available: Organizational Meeting: All prospective ISO volunteers are strongly encouraged to attend our 1st organizational meeting on Tuesday, May 1, 2001 ,5:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m., International Lounge, EMU. This is a great opportunity for you to ask questions and offer any suggestions you think it might improve the ISO program. ISO Leadership Training: On Saturday, May 12, 2001, the ISO planning committee offers a whole day training to improve your leadership and team building skills. You need to attend the organizational meeting on May 1st to sign up for this training. ISO Information Training: Monday, September 10 and Tuesday, September 11 are the days for the ISO training. All volunteers are REQUIRED to participate in the training. The training days are when we review the orientation program with the ISO volunteers and all job assignments are made. Your role in the program will become clear to you during the ISO training. International Student Orientation (ISO): The actual orientation begins on Thursday, September 13, 2001 and activities are planned at various times the entire week following. Volunteers needed for the Hospitality Table (Sept. 4 21, 2001): Upper-Division Internship Credits (ELTA 409/609 or INTL 409/609):ISO volunteers are able to enroll for 1-2 internship credits in the Department of Educational Leadership or in the International Studies Program. Participants may enroll for fall or summer 2001 terms. Participation in this internship is optional. Course Requirements to Earn a Pass:
