On Brainwashed Pawns

I was planning to vote next week in the election and I'd wager so werethousands of other students. But thanks to the whims of a few people, my basic democratic right has been denied.
--Erica Boberg, Environmental Studies, in a letter to the Emerald. Thousands of students don't even vote in Regular Elections. And last time we checked, our democratic rights defunded OSPIRG until the next Regular Election.Boberg: never (write) again.

The University is not the real world. A special election is appropriate for reinstating any organization because students have a finite time at the University.
--Mike Arnold, Law student, in a letter to the Emerald. You sir, are an embarrassment to your Law School. But we'd put good money on you for next Con Court official.

--Morgan Cowling, ASUO Vice President. First of all, you are stupid. Second of all, you are also a moron. Conclusion: Your election violates the Constitution. Per Curium.

Sometimes I go into the bathroom, sit down, turn on Ani Difranco, and look down and wonder why I was born with it in the first place.
--David Liabraton, UO Music major, on his wang.

On Keep Your Eyes On Your Own Paper

The Constitution Court is trying to play God.
--Erica Boberg, Environmental Studies, in a letter to the Emerald. Boberg!Again! Look at the quote next door.

This small minority has successfully shown what a God complex can do to a person.
--Courtney Hight, Environmental Studies, in a letter to the Emerald. It's funny how girls with the same OSPIRG friendly major, can't come up with anything intelligent to say, even when they consult with each other prior to writing their letters.

On Unconditional Faith

I am 100% sure that this election is constitutional, and I'm just wondering why so many people here are opposed to democracy.
--Teresa "Bo-Batty" Tobin, Student Senator. Not the brightest bulb on the tree. We mean that too. By the way this is libelous. Also slander is involved. Don't even start with defamation. Sue us! Readers: make all contributions to the Bo-Batty prosecution fund.

On Repeated Brilliance

Who is that girl? What a dipshit!
--Art Alexakis, lead singer of Everclear, on Geneva Wortman. Yes, he really said this, and yes, this is the 3rd time we've printed it. Why? You know.
