Indians Love Their Children, Too
Anyone out there troubled by the fact that India has nuclear weapons? Christ, they have a hard enough time managing that whole pestilence/fly on the lips problem... Indoor plumbing is still something of a scarcity over there (although, a few stray chunks of Uranium-235 in the village well would explain seeing the six-armed gods with the blue skin and the rest of that whole Hindu thing). The speculation is that this could lead to a dangerous arms race with Pakistan. What happened to this whole nonviolent resistance thing that India was so proud of? Will somebody please get Ghandi on the horn? He's what? Well, then fuck it, get Ben Kingsley over here! Why, god, why? Will somebody please think of the children? We need to get 100,000 copies of The Day After shipped over there, stat!
Bumbling Bunger
Well, we finally pinned the little bastard down. It's too little, too late, but at least we can say that Ben Unger egregiously broke the rules. In the wake of the elections complaints, the ASUO Constitution Court ruled that Ben Unger did in fact jeopardize the integrity of the student government elections by campaigning and acting on behalf of the elections board at the same time. He has been censured and is unable to speak, debate or vote at the Student Senate for the rest of the year. Since there is only one senate meeting left, this is hardly a crushing blow. Nevertheless, there was a tremendous amount of satisfaction to be had, watching him squirm before the ConCourt. At one point, he even tried to argue the case against him and Bill in last year's elections in his defense. His own staff even questioned his behavior during elections in their weekly meetings. If you're gonna break the rules, at least be subtle about it...
Fear and Loathing
Just a friendly reminder, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas (the movie) comes out this Friday. You know where we'll be. I'm still trying to figure out what to wear, as my normal attire will not inconspicuously cover up the fifth of Wild Turkey I will be escorting to the event. Hunter wouldn't have it any other way; I shall see the damn bats soon enough.
