Math 243 (Phillips) Lecture of 5 May 2008

Files for the lecture of 5 May 2008:

• A version of the computer file I showed in class (pdf); AMSLaTeX. Some corrections have been made, and two additions:
  • The comment at the bottom of page 6: "We are assuming H_0 is true. Therefore we take mu = 7 in this calculation, because that is what H_0 says mu is."
  • The section "Restating the reasoning" on page 8.
• The slide I showed at the beginning of class. (Large file: 630 KB.)
