Oregon Basketball Band
Eric Wiltshire,
director
The Oregon Basketball Band is made up of about 50 members from the OMB who perform at the Oregon men’s basketball games and at selected women’s games. One of the best basketball bands in the country the OBB is known for playing upbeat, exciting music that is the cornerstone of the cheering section for the team. The OBB plays an important role is giving an already loud and energetic McArthur Court its home court advantage.
The OBB is a recognized university course for which you must register and for which credit is given. Rehearsals are held Friday afternoons during the winter term. Auditions are held at the end of the fall term. Oregon Basketball Band members should expect to travel during the course of the season. Yearly trips include the Women’s Pac-10 Tournament (San Jose, CA) and the Men’s Pac-10 Tournament (Los Angeles, CA). Other post-season travel includes NCAA tournament play. The 2007 band traveled to the team all the way to the Elite 8 game in St. Louis, MO.
