*Author of 19 books, editor and author of numerous volumes and articles related to Chinese and Japanese Zen Buddhism, Professor Faure is one of the foremost international scholars of Zen Buddhism. He has published in English, Japanese, and French, and in addition to his other duties, is currently co-director of the Stanford Center for Buddhist Studies.
