Research in the Motor Control Lab
is concerned with two broad aspects of sensorimotor integration: the ability
to maintain upright stance following perturbations to balance and the coordination
between vision and oculomotor and manual motor movements. These issues
are addressed in normal healthy young adults, young children, elderly subjects,
and patient populations with damage to CNS structures thought to contribute
to sensorimotor integration. The goal of this research is to better understand
the processes by which the brain uses sensory information from a variety
of sources to coordinate appropriate motor output for the required task
be it balance control or eye-hand coordination. Click on the links below
