Welcome to the Home Page of the Motor Control Lab

Research in the Motor Control Lab is concerned with two broad aspects of sensorimotor integration: the ability to maintain upright stance following perturbations to balance and the coordination between vision and oculomotor and manual motor movements. These issues are addressed in normal healthy young adults, young children, elderly subjects, and patient populations with damage to CNS structures thought to contribute to sensorimotor integration. The goal of this research is to better understand the processes by which the brain uses sensory information from a variety of sources to coordinate appropriate motor output for the required task be it balance control or eye-hand coordination.
