Welcome to Medieval Studies at the University of Oregon!

The Medieval Studies program offers the simplest, broadest and most versatile major at the university, with classes available in a wide variety of departments: art history, architecture, English, history, humanities, comparative literature, music, religious studies, and a range of languages (French, Spanish, German, Italian, and Russian, as well as medieval languages such as Old English and Middle Welsh) in the original or in translation. Your studies could include Icelandic sagas, troubadours, castles and cathedrals, and the Crusades. It is also possible to minor in Medieval Studies.

The program sponsors a number of special events such as harp recitals, the Medieval Poetry Reading, and Medieval Day.
