Marvin-

I was contacted by Peg Marrow ahead of
time about getting involved with in the
Brain Awareness Week.  I have her son in
my class and had mentionaed that I would
be interested.  I would like to have a
speaker come out and talk about the
functions of the brain, how it works,
exciting studies about the brain, careers
within brain research,  where you see the
future of your work is going , and how
microgravity effects the brain.  If you
have more of a canned presentation that
would be fine too.

I have 3, 56 minute classes that the Brain
Awareness Week would fit into well.
Unfortunately, one is in the morning and
the other two are back to back inb the
afternoon.  It would make life easier on
me if I could get a speaker to come in and
talk to each class individually.  This may
not work out for you though, lets see what
we can do.

I was hoping to plan for a presentation on
March 16 or 17 at Kelly Middle School.  My
three class times are 8:55-9:51,
1:25-2:21, and 2:25-3:21.  If I had to, I
could combine some of the classes.  I have
not asked the other science teams if they
would like to join my classes, yet.

In the past, when I have taught about the
nervous system and the brain, I have
brought in a couple of brains for the kids
to disect and check out. Then I bring out
a brain to eat.  I have not found any
great recipies for brain (if there are
any.)  Would you have one that you have
tried?

Thanks for giving us the opportunity to
meet with you. Ken
