| The office of Legal
Services was started in 1971 by the ASUO to provide free legal
advice to students at the University of Oregon. Today the program provides a wide range of legal services. We serve the largest number of students in landlord/tenant disputes, divorce and separation issues, and misdemeanor criminal matters. Other services we provide include small claims counseling, name changes, expungement of qualified criminal records, consumer credit and debt problems, and property damage claims. In addition, the program offers consultation in personal injury matters including bicycle and automobile accident cases, and a referral system is available to help students locate quality private attorneys who specialize in personal injury matters. |
