In 480 BC, Xerxes, king of Persia, began his invasion of Greece. Lead by Athens and Sparta, the Greeks fought back against an invasion by the strongest empire in the world. This is the story of the Greeks' stand against Xerxes' invasion, as chronicled by Herodotus.
