Using browsers to inspect your HTML files
Check your pages with multiple different browsers, e.g.:
- Netscape 3.0, or 4.0 for PC
- Netscape 3.0, or 4.0 for Macintosh
- Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0
- lynx
You'll get very different results, especially as you start to use
"advanced" html features.

Check your pages:
- with different sizes of windows
- with different browser preferences, particularly for fonts and
colors
- as printed (not everyone will view your pages on line)
Be especially aware of:
- color differences, especially Mac vs PC
- page layout differences, especially with tables and
frames
- differences between browsers in support for "advanced" HTML
features
- differences among browser configurations (e.g. installed
plugins)
