diglib: DCC Meeting October 31, 2005

Below are my notes from the October 31 meeting of the
DCC. If you have corrections or clarifications, please send
them to me or to the list. I didn't write down the name of everyone who
attended, but I remember that Ed Teague and Cara List from
AAA attended, as well as several of the usual DCC members. My
notes are also very sketchy so please review these carefully. -- Carol

The Digital Content Coordinators met on October 31 to
discuss the status of Art on File and Saskia. We were especially
interested in reviewing our compliance with the workflow for
acquired digital content available at: http://libweb.uoregon.edu/diglib/E_Resource_Wrkflow.pdf

There is some confusion about the status of these two
projects. CDs have been received for Saskia but nothing
has been loaded into the MSU. We have been asked to do a license agreement for Art on File after the fact. We also have not received
everything we have paid for. Some content has been loaded
into the MSU directly from the hard drive delivery that
was made by Art on File staff some time ago. Some earlier
content from CDs was also loaded into the MSU. We agreed
that we could delete the extra MAC-related files from the
MSU. There is a need for the project team to meet and
review what has been done and what the next steps are.
The project team will likely consist of: Ed, Faye, Sara, Carol,
and Corey. Others may be called in to assist.

The group also discussed some minor modifications
needed to the workflow document. Carol will take care
of that.

The group next discussed the need for a discussion
about metadata standards for the AAA collections before
the collections could be loaded. A special meeting of
the project team and the Metadata Implementation
Group will be scheduled to discuss these issues.
