Here are my notes from today's DCC meeting--Carol ***************************************************************** Attending: Chadwell, Harper, Helmer, Hixson, Matney Announcements: Corey spoke about a meeting he had last week with Terry Reese of OSU and John Helmer of Orbis/Cascade to discuss Orbis/Cascade's interest in investigating consortial digital projects. Terry and Corey provided their perspective on some of the technical options available for such projects. John will continue to have discussions with Orbis/Cascade members about possible projects. Corey raised an issue that has come up with Art on File images that will need to be discussed by DCC members. The issue relates to the migration of MAC files to a PC environment and what to do with the MAC-specific header information that gets stripped off into a separate file during the conversion process. Carol suggested that the DCC could discuss this issue via email. Corey will provide a full explanation for the list. Tom spoke about the growing demands for setting up classrooms that can accommodate multi-media in a variety of campus buildings. Normandy announced her attendance at a recent OCLC-sponsored meeting on newspaper digitization projects. Lesli Larson also attended the meeting. Review of workflow documents: The group reviewed the workflow document that Carol had drafted and made several suggestions. A revised version based on the discussion is attached and will be posted on the group's web site. Faye suggested that we use Saskia as a test case of the workflow. The probable project team would be Ed Teague and Christine Sundt, Faye, Sara, Carol, Corey, and Lesli. Notes by cgh
