The Digital Content Coordinators (and interested parties)
will meet on Monday, March 21 from 2-3:30 in the Rowe
Conference Room.
Tentative agenda:
1) Review survey form with sample collection information
(see attached document and explanation below)
2) Continue discussion of the special meeting of March 16,
if time permits
Regarding the survey form, Corey and I met a couple
of times to flesh out the survey form and attempt to answer
questions for the Athletics and the Academy digital collection at:
http://libweb.uoregon.edu/catdept/digcol/athletics/index.html
There are still some questions and problematic areas. At this
point, we believe that the survey process that we undertook
as part of the Access to Collections initiative could be a
useful model for how to carry out a digital content survey.
For those of you unfamiliar with this, check out the web
page at:
http://libweb.uoregon.edu/catdept/home/accesstaskgroup.html
The salient features of that process that I think could be
beneficial for this survey were:
1) group development of a survey instrument
2) web form to collect survey information
3) UL endorsement of the survey
4) background context document for survey participants
In addition, I think this process is complicated enough that
we would want to have follow up interviews with every respondent
to help clarify and expand answers.
See you Monday.
Carol
