Re: diglib: UO's OTHER digital library

DigLib:

I second Bob's applause ... this is definitely
worth a look.

Subject: diglib: UO's OTHER digital library

The INTERSECT digital library --- http://intersect.uoregon.edu -- is
literary feet away from Knight. The Intersect e-books are web-based and the
whole operation strikes me as much better than many similar efforts that
I've seen. I think the Intersect people deserve a round of applause. While
they probably did it with a 50 trillion $$ grant from the Department of
Education, that, too, is worth noting. They obviously have the horses to
write grants -- and are very successful at it (as their resume shows).
Perhaps they should be adopted as a role model. Unlike most digital
libraries, what they have produced is actually useful ......
