Miscellaneous Notes
- URLs may change at any time without notice (this is something simply
beyond our control).
- There is no "//" in the URLs for USENET News groups (this is the only
URL scheme which doesn't use "//")
- If you are using Lynx, poorly-designed/highly-graphical WWW pages may be
hard to use (you won't be able to see the images).
- If you are using Lynx on Oregon and you specify a URL with capital
letters on the command line, you must double quote that URL.
- If you dislike Lynx, try Mosaic; Mosaic is generally considered to
be better.
- Some of the best WWW sites may experience crushing loads sometimes;
when that happens, you may be unable to connect.
- New WWW resources are routinely announced in the
comp.infosystems.announce newsgroup; see also comp.infosystems.www.*
- You should also see the "WWW Frequently Asked Questions File,"
available from: http://sunsite.unc.edu/boutell/faq/www_faq.html
- Consider making your own WWW page - it's easy! See the CC Docs Room
handout "Making My Own WWW Page On Gladstone."
