Subject: Some concerns about the General Education Transfer
Dear Dr. Gilkey and Dr. Sprague,
Attached is a summary of the most important concerns that have been raised at Lane about the proposed GE Transfer Module. I am sorry for the delay in responding, and realize that a revision was endorsed on November 19th. I hope that our comments might still be useful to the committee. I have attached them in a Word document.
I am very pleased by the strong statement about the importance of academic advising from the Inter-Institutional Faculty Senate. I think we all agree that effective advising will be critical to the success of the GE Transfer Module.
Best regards,
Richard Freund, Ph.D.
Counselor, Lane Community College
Dear Dr. Gilkey and Dr. Sprague,
In my email that I just sent to you, I see that I may not have been clear enough about the source of these views. They represent only the views of a group of counselors and advisors who participated in several discussions. They do NOT represent the official views of Lane Community College.
Sorry for any confusion on this point. Best regards,
Richard Freund
