Good Morning,

I am forwarding the attached document for your review and comment.

The State Board of Higher Education stated on June 4, their hope that the ORP Coalition can continue to work toward consensus on proposed changes to the Optional Retirement Program.

Denise Yunker, Benefits Officer for the Oregon University System, has asked that I forward this latest concept to you for your review and comment. This concept will be discussed at the OUS Administrative Council Meeting Wednesday, June 16 at 1:00 p.m. to gain feedback and thinking of the Administrative Officers at OUS institutions.

This concept includes a middle ground proposal, i.e, that the actual rate adjustment methodology be described through rulemaking that allows input and discussion by stakeholders, and states rate changes could be considered when needed to balance ORP contributions against changes in the total compensation status of faculty at OUS institutions.

I welcome your comments and feedback. If you can, please get me comments by 12:00 noon Wednesday, June 16. I will share your comments with the Administrative Council members.

Thank you.
