First. I have just learned there is a special meeting of the State Board tomorrow (Tuesday) via teleconference. I will be there and I'll report back on what (if anything) developed. Second. Bob, Mina, and I met with Bill Linden (AOF) and Rick Troxell (AOF) via teleconference this morning. AOF is in the process of going ahead with a lawsuit against OUS over ORP. They are in the process of finding plaintiffs for a class action suit and trying to raise money for the suit. We hope to have one of the lawyers dealing with the lawsuit at the IFS meeting Saturday February 7 to give us an update. AOF is in the process of arranging to make available people to address the WOU, OSU, and UO Senates at their next meetings, should the respective senates so desire. AOF feels OUS is pining all its hopes on "decoupling" PERS and ORP. There are real questions that were raised today concerning the wisdom of that line of endeavor. We will discuss it further at the IFS meeting in February. Peter B Gilkey President IFS
