A group of 48 methodologists went to the United States Summer 1999 for an intensive English Language Teaching course where they had excellent daily access to computers and the Internet. As part of the pre-departure preparation for that course, the methodologists attended this six-day workshop on Internet Skills for English Language Teaching Professionals. This workshop prepared them for the skills they needed in Internet use to make best professional use of their time in the United States, as well as to continue to use the Internet as a tool for professional communication and research when they returned to Egypt.
