Requirement I: Introduction to the Major But required for those who declare the major with fewer than 90 credits
Requirement II: Breadth
One course in each of the four areas (16 credits in all); at least two of these four courses (8 credits) must be at the upper division (3xx) level. Eligible courses include all those listed in the Catalogue as "Group Satisfying"

Requirement III: Concentration Students must submit -a one page essay defending the unity of the concentration and outlining the courses to be taken.
Seven courses for a minimum of 28 upper division credits
No more than three of these seven courses may be completed in any one department.
Area of concentration: Students must submit a one page description outlining the concentration and justifying the intellectual unity of the courses selected.
