COURSE DESCRIPTION

Planning, adaptation, development, and social role of religious groups and traditions in the United States from the colonial period to the present.

COURSE REQUIREMENTS

Paper: You are to write a 10-to-15-page paper based on additional reading or research about a particular religious group, leader, event, or development (of your choice) in United States history. Discuss topic with me by Apr. 30; I can help you find sources. The paper, due May 24, will count 1/3 of the course grade. There will be no midterm test. Final accounts for 2/3 of the grade.
