What to do with that History Degree

What can a person do with a degree in history? This is a question that plagues many students. If you have no desire continuing your education in graduate school, there is still hope for a top notch career with a degree in history.

Besides the obvious, education, many other options are available. Past students have gone on to law school, while others have pursued careers in government. Recently, a student in history continued on to film school and another is teaching English in Mexico. Foreign relation jobs are another career choice easily obtained with a degree in history. Other career opportunities available are museum curator, information specialist, librarian, biographer, corporate historian, research analyst, editor, writer, book distributor or book sales representative. The list of possibilities is endless.

The History Department can answer questions and direct you in the right direction. Also, stop by the Career Center for help with resumes, job searches, and career development opportunities. Also, remember to discuss you career options with your history advisor, a peer advisor, the Undergraduate Coordinator, or Professor Haskett, Undergraduate Director.
