The project involves five teams that are centered at field stations throughout the United States. These teams are developing regional communities of faculty (institutional teams) centered at field stations who will take a leadership role in the reform of undergraduate biology education. During 1999 and 2000, a series of workshops will be held at the field stations to further the goals of the FIRST project.
