ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUES COMMITTEE

ATTENDEES:  Ben Farrell, Bob Jones, Paula Staight, Jim Blick, Cheri Smith, Anne Forrestel

Ben met with Dan Williams regarding the Talloires Declaration and the Recyled Paper Policy.  Dan was positive about the Talloires and will recommend its endorsement to Dave Frohnmayer.  He also agreed that the Recyled Paper Policy should be updated on the UO web site, but he will need to talk to Dave Hubin first.

Year End Report

The committee reviewed the report Ben drafted and made the following suggestions:

• Add an action item for each recommendation and the individual or entity responsible for follow-up
• The committee revised the topic sequence to reflect priorities
• Change the person in charge of CASL from Robert Melnick to Richard Linton
• Change the spelling of Taylor Johnson’s first name to Taylour

Ben will e-mail a revised draft to the committee.

Election

Jim nominated Ben Farrell for the chairperson position for 2005-06.  Paula seconded the nomination and the committee voted unanimously.  Ben’s membership to the committee will need to be renewed for next year.

The Environmental Issues Committee will reconvene in the fall.
