Educational Services

Early Childhood CARES has many different educational options for young children. After it has been determined that a child is eligible for educational services and appropiate goals have been set, the educational team decides what kind of program would best meet the child's needs. It is the goal to provide the child's educational services in the "least restrictive" or most typical setting and as close to home as possible. Family needs and preferences are also considered.

Early Childhood CARES directly provides services through home visits, parent-toddler classes, community preschools, specialized preschoolclassrooms, and speech therapy in either group or community preschools. Early Childhood CARES also utilizes the expertise of the community and funds four community programs to provide educational services: The Early Education Program, Eugene Hearing and Speech Center, The Relief Nursery and Lane Regional Program for children who are deaf and hard of hearing.

Early Childhood CARES Programs

Home Visits

Parents receive regular home visits from an early intervention specialist. This program helps parents learn techniques and ideas to help their child learn new skills.
