Jason Webb received his Ph.D. in Comparative Literature from Princeton University in 2005. Before joining the UO faculty, he was associate professor at the University of Tokyo and served as the managing editor of The International Journal of Asian Studies (Cambridge UP) (2008-09). His research interests include early Japanese literature, particularly from the seventh and eighth centuries, and the transnational cultural flows in early East Asia. He is currently working on a book titled Postnationalism and the Problem of Reception in Early Yamato and an edited volume titled Before Nara.
