Training

    The triathlon club trains throughout the entire academic year.  Workouts begin in the fall term with the aim of building a solid base of mileage and fitness.  This is done on an individuals own schedule along with a few team workouts a week. 

    Starting winter term, team workouts are intensified and training is custom to the team’s racing schedule. 

    Spring term is when most of the competitions take place and training consists of sharpening skills and preparing to race.  Regular group rides occur every saturday with a run and swim workout during the week.

    Remember, team members decide how many practices to attend and their own training intensity.  Our practices are laid back and relaxed.  We do not want to create an elite hardcore club.  Each member has their own reason for joining.

    Every week, members receive an email from our coach of that weeks training program.
