Developmental Sociobiology Lab

DSLab

The DSLab is located within the Department of Psychology at the University of Oregon in Eugene. In the broadest sense, our research focuses on psychological, social, and neurobiological processes that shape young children’s development - both prenatally and during the early years of life. We are particularly interested in how neurobiological systems that support emotion regulation interact with familial processes over time to foster positive outcomes or to place children at risk for problems in adaptation. Please see Research for a description of our current projects.

Translational research projects comprise a second and newer activity within the DSLab. With students in our lab as well as with trainees participating in the University of Oregon’s Infant Mental Health Program, we seek to develop prenatal and postnatal interventions to support the relational health of parents and their very young children.
