The Remedi Project


This "project" is a collection of works that attempt to redefine the web medium. Movement on the index page brings a peculiar life to the site.

Project 04 by Anette Loudin is a creative scrolling composition of a skyline led by a poetic narrative. The only thing I wish she had additionally included was some RealAudio of the busy streets below.

Project 08, John J. Hills "transmitting agencies" is a mesmerizing piece that effectively employs audio, video, Java rollovers and quantum leaping text in a non-linear, viewer-regulated path. To my knowledge, this type of installation is unique to the web medium.

Project 13, "da fam'e le" is highly innovative. Josh ulm has composed four interactive, visual-poetic pieces that utilizing Real Audio to strengthen their impact. Also nonlinear in nature, these works exemplify the potential of what web places can be.

Machix

A brief but consuming portfolio of graphic work, the Machix site stands out because of its clarity in composition. A rhythmatic tune accompanies the strong graphics which give one a glance into surreal worlds.

This artistic medium is at the forefront of web design because of its unique navigational technology. Multiple-textured, full-screen collage backgrounds and graphic intensive type treatments deliver a memorable site. There is an interesting take on Focoult's Panopticon in the "Synestasia" section. The surveillance structure has been three-dimensionally modeled and viewers take part in an interactive
