The Department of Classics administers an interdisciplinary master of arts degree in classical civilization to provide predoctoral training for prospective candidates in classical archaeology and ancient history, or for students interested in a general program in ancient studies at the graduate level. The candidates must satisfy requirements 1-4 required for the master of arts degree in classics; and define, with the help of an advisory committee, a coherent program of study.
