Electronic Configurations
Instructions
Use this page to practice writing electronic configurations
for the elements. This drill will
present you, at random, with either the name of an element
or the ground state electronic configuration of an element.
If you are given the name of an element, enter the
ground state electronic configuration in the space provided.
Do not try to sub- or superscript numbers; just enter them
all on the same line, e.g. 1s2 instead of 1s2.
Leave spaces between each atomic orbital, e.g.
1s22s22p3 would be entered
as 1s2 2s2 2p3. If you are given an electronic
configuration, enter either the name or the symbol of
the element represented. Case is significant
when entering symbols of elements, e.g. Na, not na.
Select "Check Answer" to see if your answer is correct;
select "Give Up" if you want to see the answer.
