- Class meets MWF 1:00-2:00, Deady 306.
- Book: Abstract Algebra, Theodore Shifrin,
Prentice Hall.
- Syllabus: Chapters 1, 2 and 3.
- Homework Assignments (30%)
to be collected on WEDNESDAYS.
Late homework will not be accepted. Not all of the assigned homework
problems will be graded.
- Note I will be away Friday October 11--Monday October 14.
I will arrange for someone else to teach the class on these two days!
- Test dates:
- Midterm (25%): 1.00-2.00 F Nov 8, Deady 306.
- Final (45%): 15:15--17:05 W Dec 11, Deady 306.
You must bring photo ID to the midterms and the final.
- Grading: Homework 30%,
midterm 25%,
final 45%.
- Please remember that if you miss a class, it is
your responsibility to find out what happened in that class. You
can usually pick up any handouts from this web page.
