Log gradient estimates of the heat equation on manifolds.
Abstract: First, we will review Li-Yau and Hamilton's log
gradient estimates for positive solutions of the heat equation on
manifolds and some applications. Second, we will report new results on
a sharp Li-Yau gradient estimate on compact manifolds.
