Title: On torsion in discrete isometry groups of negatively curved
manifolds
Abstract: I construct discrete finitely generated isometry
groups of negatively curved Hadamard manifolds of dimension >3 with
unbounded torsion. This answers a question asked by Margulis in 1974.
