Title: Positive scalar curvature on pin+ and
pin- manifolds
Abstract: As we saw in the recent talk by Jackson Goodman, interesting
features appear when one studies positive scalar curvature
on manifolds
which aren't spin but which have a double cover which is.
We discuss
the proof of two cases of the "twisted Gromov-Lawson-Rosenberg
conjecture"
for manifolds with fundamental group Z/2
and pin+ and pin- - manifolds. This
was
conjectured a long time ago, but some aspects of the problem only became
clearer recently through the study of positive scalar curvature
on manifolds with
singularities. This is joint work with Boris
Botvinnik.
