Method: What methods and procedures will your study use? Tell how your study
will be done and why. Know Thyself: As you plan your methodological approach to your study, does it match how you like to spend your time. That is, if you plan many hours of literature or document study, do you enjoy long quiet isolated hours of reading. If you plan many hours of structured or unstructed interviews, do you feel capable of and do you enjoy the process of carefully directed conversation and the necessary coding, analysis, interpretation and follow-up this inplies? |

McMillan: Part II (p.164. to 250) Read this for concepts, not for calculation. That
is, for example, on page 223, what might shapes like those in figure 7.10 mean to
a programmer if they represented the income of a performing arts audience? Focus on sections of texts most relevant to your research methods and procedures. Find other references to support your design of study. |
Write a description of the methods and procedures you plan to use in your design
of study. Provide a rationale for choices. Consider the implications of choices philosophically
and practically. Most importantly, how are choices of methods and procedures related
to the content and desired outcomes of your study. Record additional references you have found to support your design of study Revise this first approximation repeatedly in the weeks to follow. |
Find at least three more studies that address your purpose area. Look in at least two data bases that treat your selected purpose areas and bring abstracts of studies you find applicable. |
