Assignment 4.1:

Dynamic Qualities

Objectives:

To reflect on your site or project from an experiential viewpoint, to explain time-dependent design factors

Problem Description:

You are to reveal an aspect of your project by creating a short animated sequence. In the sequence, you can emphasize one of the following:

A sequence of views in a walk-through

Changing lighting conditions

Architectural elements that change position

Alternative material properties

Can you superimpose your most recent ideas about the design into the sequence?

Procedure

You may create the animation sequence one of the following ways:

- Sequencing images into a GIF animation using Photoshop 5.5, Graphic Converter, Gif Animator or GIF Builder

- Creating a walkthrough from a 3D CAD program such as FormZ or Design Workshop

- Creating 2D image components and animating them in floating boxes with Dynamic HyperText Markup Language

- Taking video footage of the site and editing it with Adobe Premiere (self-study option)

Embed the animation in a web page with text explaining the sequence. If you haven't already done so, include images about your main design concepts with text in bullet form.
