The first Oregon Conference Distinguished Service Award was presented by the Executive Committee to Jetta Siegel, Executive Secretary Emeritus. We concur with the comments in a letter to Jetta from Ernst Benjamin, General Secretary of our national organization. He said, the "American Association of University Professors appreciates your many years of exceptional service to Oregon Conference....You have kept the conference aware of emerging activities and issues which had the potential to impact faculty, thus permitting the Conference to be proactive....in recognition of your service, you have been presented the first Distinguished Service Award granted by the Oregon Conference. We are pleased to have this opportunity to congratulate you on your receipt of this award." To acknowledge her receipt of this award, the letter was read into the proceedings of the Spring AUUP-AOF Forum.
