The meeting convened at 1200 on Friday 7 December 2002. Much of the discussion
focussed on the question of benefits - and the relation of PEBB to the
OUS faculty. It was noted that the faculty tend to be better health risks
than the population of state employees as a whole and thus lumping the
OUS faculty in with the statewide population as a whole has lead to an
increase in health costs. The loss of `cash back' in particular means that
faculty members could (a) see a `raise' in the January paychecks but yet
(b) end up receiving less net money.
There was also a brief discussion of the ongoing financial difficulties
at OSU - see the aaup document from the OSU
chapter - and some other state wide matters were discussed
