In the capstone option, students are required to will write a proposal for a course of inquiry in which they will explore a thoughtfully constructed question regarding a topic of current significance in arts administration. Among other elements, the proposal includes an annotated bibliography that supports their selection of three additional courses designed to support an area of inquiry framed by the student. Selected course credits may range from 9 - 12, depending on the specific courses. Two of the three courses should be taken in winter term of the second year of study, and the third in spring term. If the proposal is approved, information gained by taking the three courses is used to create a 25 - 35 page synthesis paper that follows programmatic guidelines.

The expected outcome of the capstone is the synthesis paper reviewed and approved by the student's advisor and orally presented in a public forum.
