EXHIBITION CLOSING
This is the last week to see “OPEN/END MFA 2008,” an exhibition of the work of twelve MFA students that closes on Sunday, June 15. “OPEN/END MFA 2008” is a collaborative exhibition by the Department of Art, School of Architecture and Allied Arts and the Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art. Learn more

EXTENDED HOURS
The JSMA will be open to the public for extended hours during the Eugene 08 Track and Field Trials. Beginning June 25 through Sunday, July 6, the museum will be open to the public 7 days a week from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
NEW HOURS
Beginning in July 2008, the JSMA will be open on Tuesdays! New JSMA hours are Tuesday 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; Wednesday 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.; Thursday – Sunday 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
MEMBERSHIP MEETING
Annual Meeting of the Members
Friday, June 20, 4:00 p.m.
The Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art cordially invites JSMA members to the annual meeting of the members. Doors open at 4:00 p.m. with the formal business meeting beginning at 4:30 p.m. Join in a social hour, following the meeting, to celebrate the beginning of the JSMA’s 75th Anniversary year and have a chance to meet the recently announced Executive Director, Jill Hartz. Swing, Tilt and Pull: The Sports Photography of David Burnett in a Digital World
Thursday, June 26, 6 p.m.
David Burnett, acclaimed photojournalist and one of the featured photographers in "Faster, Higher, Farther," details his motivations, style of photography, and techniques using medium and large format photography in a world gone digital. The projection, discussion and Q&A will cover David's use of conventional and personalized weaponry in his quest for photographic gold.

Monday, June 30, 1 p.m.
Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist and track historian, Jack Pfeifer, and former Olympic athlete, Duncan Atwood (whose personal record for a longest javelin throw is 308 feet 7 inches), answer questions about what a javelin is made of, how far it goes, does it stick in the ground and more. Plus you’ll get a chance to try throwing a javelin, too.

Ages six to thirteen
Monday through Friday
Full day camps – 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Half day afternoon camps (weeks 2 and 5 only) – 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Cost: $195 per child ($175.50 for JSMA members) for full days
$100 ($90 for JSMA members) for half days
All camps culminate with a final exhibition of student work on the last day of camp. Fee includes all art materials and two snacks per day. JSMA members, UO affiliates, and multiple session campers receive a 10% registration discount. A limited number of partial scholarships are available. Call (541) 346-6410 for information.
